1) Get some sleep. Though you might feel like you need to stay up late to study, your body needs sleep to be able to function. You won't be able to get through the year if you don't get enough sleep.

2) Take care of your health. You need to focus on your health. You should try to eat as healthy as possible. This can be difficult, especially if you are eating in the cafeteria. However, they should offer healthy alternatives. You should also try to avoid late night snacking when you up studying. It is also important to try to exercise as much as possible when you are in college. The freshman fifteen is not just a myth.

3) Become independent from your parents. College is a good time to start to build your independence. Start by taking care of your dorm or apartment. Go to your classes on time. Do your own laundry. Show your parents that you are able to start to take care of yourself.

College can be fun but it is also the time when you need to start to grow up and become responsible. You need to make your health (and sleep) a priority. Without enough sleep, your brain won’t be able to retain all of the information that you need to learn. Make sure you eat as healthy as possible and try to refrain from late night snacking. Though it can be hard, show everyone that you are a responsible adult and you can take care of yourself.
